Meet the Team

Wendy Wegner

To combine her passion for travel with a desire to see people happy and their dreams fulfilled, Wendy founded Wegner Associates over twenty five years ago. She was a visionary who recognized the specific niche of luxury hotel representation. As travel advisors grew more influential and became an important part of planning travel and special services for affluent travelers, Wendy realized that there was a keen need for a liaison between travel professionals and the managers of privately-owned luxury hotels and resorts worldwide.

Peter Island Resort and Spa was Wendy’s very first client–and remains her client to this day. Since then, Wendy has steered the company’s growth by remaining dedicated to the travel professional, only representing hotels and resorts that she feels a passion for, and, as a boutique representation company, carefully keeping the business at a size that ensures her hotel clients always receive personalized service.

Wendy’s other passion is her love for animals. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation and spends her weekends on Long Island devoted to fundraising, animal welfare and community events.

You might also find Wendy on the tennis courts in Southampton, on the ski slopes of Vermont, gardening on the rooftop of her Manhattan home, but most often she is on her way to JFK Airport to discover another special place.

Tara D’Agostino

Tara, formerly a luxury travel advisor, comes to Wegner Associates with a true passion for travel that has been such an integral part of her life from a young age. Growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, her father was a mechanical engineer that traveled the world. She would flip through his photo albums as a child and be in awe of his photos of the Sphinx, the Great Wall and the Taj Mahal. She can remember vowing to herself as young as the age of 5 that travel would be a very important part of her life.

Tara attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and graduated with dual degrees in Political Science and International Studies and minored in both East Asian Studies and Mandarin. Immediately after graduation in 2002, she traveled to China for 6 weeks to study, and explored Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Dongguan and Hong Kong. Tara has always had an appreciation for culture, ethnicity and diversity, however, this trip just solidified that drive within herself to make her life one of travel and wanderlust.

Since entering the travel industry, Tara has specialized in experiential travel for millennials and young families; making luxury travel not only an aspiration for her clients, but a reality. She has convinced many that not only can they stay at the best in the world if they have flexibility, but that the luxury travel industry is truly catering to millennials and children now more than ever.

Tara resides in New Jersey with her husband Sal, and children, Salvatore and Ava. In addition to travel, Tara is also extremely passionate about lifestyles; cooking, mixology, wine, fashion, interior design and the arts.

Max Hoener

Maximilian Hoener (Max) comes to Wegner Associates with over 10 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry.  He began his hotel experience while attending college in Colorado, where he experienced all aspects of hospitality.  His background includes working on property at Auberge Resorts, as a travel advisor and most recently as a luxury hotel representative.

Travel has been a huge part of Max’s life from a young age, beginning while his professor father would take the family to live in Rome, Venice and Athens for his research. Combining travel with a deep passion for the outdoors and for adventure sports has allowed Max to forge a deeper connection to the people and cultures of faraway places. It is the confluence of these passions which lead him to co-found a nonprofit organization in Indian-administered Kashmir. This organization brought local children into the nearby Himalayas for skiing and experiential education.

When he is not traveling, Max lives in New York’s scenic Hudson Valley with his new wife Jordan and two Australian Cattle Dogs, Kody Rae and Kallie. He enjoys all things outdoors, especially mountain biking, hiking and backcountry skiing and always bringing the dogs along when he can! Max and Jordan are building a farm on their property and look forward to raising animals and crops. Travel is also a family affair for the Hoeners – with Jordan working as a luxury travel advisor for Protravel International.
