Meet the Team
To combine her passion for travel with a desire to see people happy and their dreams fulfilled, Wendy founded Wegner Associates over twenty five years ago. She was a visionary who recognized the specific niche of luxury hotel representation. As travel advisors grew more influential and became an important part of planning travel and special services for affluent travelers, Wendy realized that there was a keen need for a liaison between travel professionals and the managers of privately-owned luxury hotels and resorts worldwide.
Peter Island Resort and Spa was Wendy’s very first client–and remains her client to this day. Since then, Wendy has steered the company’s growth by remaining dedicated to the travel professional, only representing hotels and resorts that she feels a passion for, and, as a boutique representation company, carefully keeping the business at a size that ensures her hotel clients always receive personalized service.
Wendy’s other passion is her love for animals. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation and spends her weekends on Long Island devoted to fundraising, animal welfare and community events.
You might also find Wendy on the tennis courts in Southampton, on the ski slopes of Vermont, gardening on the rooftop of her Manhattan home, but most often she is on her way to JFK Airport to discover another special place.
Ellie Abbott Tsurdinis
Ellie discovered her love for travel at a young age. Her father’s position as an Air Force pilot required her family to move every two years, and by experiencing different countries and cultures, it was inevitable that Ellie would pursue a career in the travel industry. She began her career with Hyatt Hotels, during which time she was honored for being appointed the youngest director of sales in the company. Ellie then moved to Trusthouse Forte Hotels where she worked for 12 years, earning a position as Vice President – Exclusive Hotels Division before leaving to work with Wegner Associates.
Now with Wegner for 18 years, Ellie has truly enjoyed working with a passionate and service-oriented team to promote our luxury portfolio to the travel industry.
Ellie is married to Evangelo Tsurdinis, an electrical engineer, born and raised in Greece. The couple, with their two daughters Alexandra and Christina, live in Westport, CT and enjoy all types of outdoor activities, spending time on Long Island Sound–especially in the summer, and attending shows at the Westport Country Playhouse.
As our Sales Manager, Joe keeps the day-to-day operations running ever so smoothly with quick wit and charm. Drawing upon over twenty years in the luxury travel service industry with Leading Hotels of the World and the Venice Simplon Orient-Express, our in-house miracle worker coordinates strategic travel agency scheduling, client invitation events, and inside sales and service.
You can find Joe at the helm of our New York City office or if it’s summer, you are sure to find him at a New York Yankees game or at one of our local beaches.
Tiziana joined the Wegner team as a college intern and loved it so much she decided to stay! With a flair for creativity and a passion for technology, she’s the one to call when there’s a computer ‘SOS’. As Marketing Coordinator, Tiziana enhances our marketing efforts and handles website design, industry research, sales activity, and roadshows.
Tiziana enjoys a country-side life with her family, relishing the great outdoors, and works diligently to raise awareness for the Autism community.
Amanda Wowk joins Wegner Associates as a Contributing Writer and Social Media Consultant.
